Madonna for New D & G Ads

Madonna, the queen of reinvention, is refashioning herself once again for the Spring/Summer 2010 Dolce & Gabbana ad campaign. The theme: sexy Italian housewife.
The smoldering black and white ads — shot by famed fashion photographer Steven Klein in New York — capture the 51-year-old Material Girl in the act of domestic chores like washing dishes and peeling onions while dressed to the nines in signature Dolce & Gabbana: corseted waists, lots of cleavage, leopard print and the same hip-hugging floral silk skirt that Rachel McAdams dons on Vogue’s January cover.

The usually lean and mean star — who was replaced by Lara Stone in the Spring/Summer 2010 Louis Vuitton ads — is even seen (gasp) eating carbs in the form of a big bowl of spaghetti. She also looks a tad fuller than we’re used to, but that could just be camera work and push-up bras.
The images, which will be published in Italian Vanity Fair this week, seem a far cry from Madonna’s luxe reality, which is probably the point.
